Why NonProfits Need Video

in Uncategorized

Play Pause Unmute Mute

Over the years, Mark Leisher Productions has worked with nonprofits of all shapes and sizes. Whether they are trying to preserve an organic farm, building homes for the disadvantaged in Baltimore, or planting trees in sub-Saharan Africa, each of these nonprofit organizations has benefited from the strategic use of video. So how can your nonprofit benefit from video? There are several options…

Fundraising

Nonprofits tend to rely upon government grants, corporate sponsorships, and personal donations in order to fund their missions. Emails, phone calls, door-to-door solicitations and fundraising events all serve their purpose; however, video can provide a constant call-to-action with limited effort. Having a fundraising video on your website, or linked to from your Facebook page, allows you to solicit donations year round. A well-done video has been shown to increase sales for companies selling a product – why not use yours to increase donations?

Building Community

People volunteer for multiple reasons, including gaining professional experience, personal learning, civic responsibility, and more. But how do they decide where to volunteer? They choose an organization that they feel a personal connection with, whose mission they support. How better to share your mission and build those connections than with video? You can tell your company story, showcase some of your successes, and feature your volunteer workers contributing to projects. These videos will showcase your good work and build an emotional connection with viewers.

Training

As a nonprofit, you have to make every dollar count. Standardized training and safety videos allow all your employees and volunteers to receive the same information, but don’t require the scheduling or costs that company-wide training sessions often do.

Whether you’ve just completed the 501C(3) paperwork or have operating for years, video can help your nonprofit succeed and prosper. Be sure to take a look at our nonprofit reel, and contact us for your next video campaign.
